EPFLEngland, Wales and Northern Ireland: General Certificate of Education including Advanced Levels in the subjects 1) mathematics, 2) physics or chemistry and 3) English. A minimum grade of A must have been obtained in each of these subjects. Three of the following additional subjects must also have been followed during the upper secondary school years (as GCSEs, as Advanced Subsidiary Levels or as Advanced Levels): 1) applied mathematics or computer science, 2) general geography, 3) general history, 4) second modern language, 5) physics or chemistry or biology. Otherwise: Entrance Examination EPFL
Scotland: Scottish Qualifications Certificate including Advanced Highers in the subjects 1) mathematics, 2) physics or chemistry and 3) English. A minimum grade of A must have been obtained in each of these subjects. Three of the following additional subjects must also have been followed during the upper secondary school years (as Standard Grades, as Highers or as Advanced Highers): 1) applied mathematics or computer science, 2) general geography, 3) general history, 4) second modern language, 5) physics or chemistry or biology. ETHZEngland, Wales and Northern Ireland: GCE with 3 Advanced Levels or Cambridge Pre-U (Principal Subjects) in: 1. mathematics; 2. physics or chemistry or biology, 3. language of instruction or foreign language with minimum grade A (A-Levels) resp. D 3 (Cambridge Pre-U Principal Subjects) in each of these 3 subjects and at least 4 additional subjects GCE AS, Cambridge Pre-U Short Courses or GCSE* in the last 3 years of secondary education of the following: physics, chemistry, biology, computer science, 1 language only, geography, history, economics. Otherwise: Reduced Entrance Examination ETH Zurich.
Scotland: Scottish Qualifications Certificate with 3 Advanced Higher in: 1. mathematics, 2. physics or chemistry or biology, 3. language of instruction or foreign language, with a grade A in each of these 3 subjects and at least 4 additional subjects (Higher or Standard)* in the last 3 years of Scottish secondary education of the following: physics, chemistry, biology, computer science, 1 language only, geography, history, economics.
