Continuing education

By offering continuing education, opportunities universities are carrying out their mandate to provide continuing education to people who have a university degree and professional experience. Continuing education is a form of knowledge transfer between university and real world experience and is part of lifelong learning. The continuing education offering at universities ranges from one-day courses to comprehensive continuing education programmes.

Lifelong learning (LLL)

Lifelong learning has become an important topic in educational policy debates, and it is also increasingly of concern to universities. According to the definition of the European Commission, lifelong learning (LLL) is «all learning activity undertaken throughout life that serves to improve knowledge, skills and competence». This definition goes further than the often-encountered focus only on continuing education.
