The Open Access Action Plan envisages the creation of recommendations for the local Open Access policies of the Swiss higher education institutions.
To this end, the Swiss Library Network for Education and Research (SLiNER) has now drawn up a set of guidelines, which we have made available here in the downloads section.
The document is aimed at the people responsible for implementing Open Access at the higher education institutions and is intended to help them develop an Open Access policy. It also provides an opportunity to check and discuss policies that have already been introduced.
The adherence of the individual policies to joint principles based on international standards will ensure that Open Access is implemented consistently across the higher education institutions and vis-à-vis researchers, funding organisations and publishing houses alike.
Our sincere thanks go to SLiNER, its Open Access working group and the project leader for this important contribution.
