Joint and double degrees
Joint degrees and double degrees indicate courses of study that are based on university cooperation. With a double degree (DD), a course of study is offered by two universities, leading to a degree and title from both partner institutions. A joint degree course of study (JD), by contrast, is a course of study designed and implemented jointly by two or more universities that leads to a (single) degree and title.
CRUS published a checklist in 2010 in order to create a common understanding of the JD and DD among Swiss universities, and by doing so to make cooperation easier.
