The $93.7 million Destination Australia Program allows tertiary education providers, including vocational education and training and higher education providers, to apply for funding through a competitive grants process to administer and promote scholarships for Australian and international students who live and study in regional Australia.
Scholarships are valued at $15,000 per student, per year, and will be available for students undertaking a Certificate IV through to PhD.

Danish Government Scholarships for Summer Language Courses 2020
Denmark offers a pool of scholarships to several countries, including Switzerland, on a competitive multilateral basis. Swiss students can apply for a scholarship under the Cultural Agreements programme to attend a Danish Summer Language Course.
The summer language courses in Danish are open to bachelor, master's and PhD students. The courses offer foreign students Danish language instruction at all levels, while showcasing Denmark and Danish culture. They feature a minimum of 3 hours of language instruction a day accompanied by excursions and cultural activities. The Danish Summer Language Courses last 3 weeks and are offered during the months of July and August 2020. The courses are offered by a number of different course providers, located in different regions of Denmark.
There are 225 scholarships available in 2020. Accepted students receive free tuition. Additionally, accepted students receive free room and board or a scholarship of 5,000 DKK to contribute to costs of room and board.

The Estonian Ministry of Education and Research and Archimedes Foundation offer scholarships to foreign nationals in the framework of the Estonian Scholarship Programme for international students, researchers and academic staff.
Scholarships for short courses The purpose of the scholarship for short courses is to support participation in short courses of Estonian language and culture organised by the Estonian institutions of higher education as well as in summer and winter schools related to the degree programmes taught in English. The scholarship can be awarded to BA, MA and PhD students who are enrolled to the higher education institution abroad at least one year by the time of application.
Scholarships for researchers Scholarships for researchers can be awarded to researchers and academic staff of higher education institutions abroad. Modern Greek Language and Culture Scholarships 2018-2019
SCHOLARSHIPS OFFERED TO NON-GREEK NATIONALS TO ATTEND COURSES AND SEMINARS IN GREECE IN THE MODERN GREEK LANGUAGE AND CULTURE 2018-2019
The State Scholarships Foundation (Ι.Κ.Υ.) offers up to fifty (50) scholarships to foreign nationals from countries worldwide in order to attend courses and seminars in the Modern Greek Language and Culture.
Greek Language: This programme offers learning opportunities at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels following a placement test and subject to sufficient students’ number.
History and Culture: Beneficiaries will be introduced to Greek History, Culture and Arts through seminars, educational visits to the sites of the city of study and excursions to other historic sites of Greece.
Cultural Programme: Cultural events are included in the course where an active participation is required.
DURATION OF THE SCHOLARSHIP
The duration of this scholarship is seven (7) months and is only offered for a specific course in the Modern Greek language and culture organised mainly at one Greek University. The University, which will hold this course, will be decided by the I.K.Y after a selection process. The courses will start on December 2018 and will end on June 2019.
REQUIREMENTS FOR ELIGIBILITY
Applicants should: - Be nationals of any country of the world excluding Greece (not with dual nationality – both foreign and Greek). - Hold a graduate degree from a non-Greek University outside Greece. - Not exceed the fortieth (40th) year of age until the 01/01/2018. - Be not permanent residents in Greece. - The knowledge of the Greek language acquired during this specific course should contribute to enhance the candidates work opportunities and to promote the Greek language and culture in their countries.
Applicants must meet the above requirements by the application deadline.

Icelandic Government Scholarships for Studies in Icelandic at the University of Iceland 2020-2021
The Icelandic Ministry of Education, Science and Culture awards on a competitive multilateral basis scholarships to several countries - including Switzerland – for studies in Icelandic as a second language at the University of Iceland, Reykjavík. Approximately 17 scholarships are available for the period from September 1st 2020 to April 30th 2021.
Eligibility The scholarships are intended for students of modern Icelandic. Students must have completed at least one year of University study. Students must also have prior knowledge of Icelandic according to the requirements for BA study in Icelandic as a second language (Icelandic knowledge on the level with the courses Icelandic Online 1 and 2). Preference will, as a rule, be given to a candidate under 35 years of age.
Scholarship The scholarship covers registration fees at the University and a monthly stipend that should cover room and board for one person, payable at the beginning of each month, September to April. A room will be available for rent in one of the University dormitory, Gamli Garður.

The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) offers one or two scholarships to Swiss students and artists who wish to study at Japanese universities as research students under the Japanese Government MEXT Scholarship Program for 2020.

The scholarship is granted for the 48th Croatian Seminar for Foreign Slavic Studies Students of the Zagreb School of Slavic Studies that will be held in Dubrovnik from 19th to 30th August 2019. Eligible applicants: Foreign students of Croatian and Slavic Studies, lecturers (professors, senior assistants with a Ph.D. and teaching/research assistants) who teach Croatian language and literature at foreign universities, experts who specialize in Croatian Studies in different research institutions, as well as translators of the Croatian language.
A/1. One semester studies for students of Croatian Language abroad: Candidates for this scholarship are nominated by the Croatian language fellows at higher education institutions in Switzerland.
F. Summer course 2019 in Dubrovnik: A minimum level of language competence is B1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (it applies to understanding, speaking and writing). A preference will be given to candidates with a level of the Croatian language competence B2 and higher.
The Latvian State Scholarships for studies, research or summer schools 2020/2021
Latvia offers scholarships to foreign students, researchers and teaching staff for studies, research and participation in summer schools in Latvian higher education institutions in the 2020/2021 academic year. The Ministry of Education and Science of Latvia has delegated the administration of the Latvian state scholarships to the State Education Development Agency (Valsts izglītības attīstības aģentūra – VIAA).
Latvian scholarships for studies
Language of instruction at Latvian higher education institutions is mainly Latvian, however there are a few study programmes offered in English (please, visit the website www.studyinlatvia.lv for more information). Applications for bachelor's and the first level of professional higher education studies will be accepted from students who have successfully completed at least one academic year of studies (at their home higher education institution or at a Latvian higher education institution if they already have been studying in Latvia) at the moment of application (February, March 2020). Scholarships for bachelor's and master's studies are granted for one academic year – a time period up to 10 months (for PhD-students – up to 11 months). Scholarship for master's studies in the study programmes of Latvian philology, Latvian literature, Latvian culture and Latvian history can be granted for two academic years, i.e. for the duration of master's study programme.
Latvian fellowships for research
Only academic or scientific staff of foreign higher education and research institutions are eligible candidates for the Latvian state fellowship for research. The fellowship is granted for a time period of up to 5 months.
Latvian scholarships for summer schools
Only students, academic and research staff of foreign higher education institutions are eligible for the Latvian scholarship for participation in summer schools.

Mexican Government's Merit Awards for International Students 2020
As part of a reciprocal exchange, the government of Mexico, represented by the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID), offers 4 scholarships to Switzerland for undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate study and research.
The scholarships are offered for the institutions and programs specified in the "List of Institutions and Academic Programs" in order to conduct academic activities from 1st of March to the 10th of December 2020 (No scholarships will be awarded for studies started after the 10th of December 2020).
Requirements for all applicants:
Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Ph.D. Degree, as required by the program for which the scholarship is requested. Technical and/or commercial degree titles are not accepted. For the cases of mobility at the Bachelor's level, it will not be necessary to submit a diploma, only proof of studies of the last academic period completed, issued by the institution of origin.
Applicants must have achieved a minimum grade point average of eighty (80), on a scale of 0 to 100, or the equivalent, for the last academic degree received. Applications with a lower grade point average will not be considered.
Applicants must be accepted or currently enrolled in a program of the participating Mexican institutions.
Scholarships are not granted for direct Ph.D. programs (combined M.A. and Ph.D. programs), distance learning programs, open or online education.
The following academic programs are not eligible for scholarships: Business Administration, Plastic Surgery, Accounting, Marketing, Advertising and Publicity, Dentistry and Odontology, as well as related fields.
The results will be announced from January 15th, 2020 through the Mexican Embassy in Bern.
The acceptance procedure for a Mexican institution and the corresponding letter is independent of the scholarship program. Applicants must manage directly their admission to the study program at any of the participating Mexican institutions.
The scholarship fund is intended for scholars of Dutch and other academics, preferably attached to departments of Dutch at foreign universities. These academics conduct research relevant to the Dutch studies and are not eligible for other national or international scholarship programmes. The academics stay at a university within the Dutch-speaking region or outside this region if this is relevant for the research. In all cases the research should be carried out within the framework of a thesis or habilitation (academic position).
A scholarship for a study period in the Netherlands or Flanders will be awarded for a maximum of six months. The scholarship can be used to pay for costs incurred while carrying out specific aspects of the research. The scholarship cannot be used for replacement of a salary. It is also not possible to use the scholarship to fund a scientific publication.

Government Scholarships for the Republik of Poland 2019/2020
Within the framework of a reciprocal exchange, the Republic of Poland, represented by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange NAWA, offers 4 scholarships of 9 months each to Switzerland. The scholarships can be divided into short scholarships of i.e. 1 month or granted for a semester or a full academic year.
The scholarships are offered for the following objectives:
participation in scientific internship;
completion of part-time studies;
completion of university studies (first-cycle programme, second-cycle programme, Master’s degree studies or doctoral studies);
obtaining materials for scientific work;
conducting teaching activities at a host centre;
other form or forms of scientific or academic activity related to the implementation of studies, doctoral thesis or academic work.
Participation in the Programme may be applied for by individuals who:
completed secondary schools in the country of their residence, and who, at the time of completing the call for proposals for the Programme, hold a school certificate giving them the right to start studying any field of study and at any university in the certificate issuing country or
are students at foreign universities or
complete their doctoral studies at foreign universities or scientific institutions or
are university graduates who received their diploma not earlier than two years before the current call for proposals and have a recommendation from their university – apply for admission to complete another level of education or
are academic, didactic or academic and didactic researchers of foreign universities or scientific institutes
Students with dual citizenship (Poland/CH) are not eligible for Polish Government scholarships, even if they live and study in Switzerland. Applicants who are already studying in Poland cannot apply for a scholarship. Exceptions to this rule are possible under certain circumstances.

In addition, students of full-time studies in Poland may receive:
in the first year of studies – the first monthly scholarship plus PLN 500, allocated for the costs of establishment in Poland (applies to persons who did not graduate from lower degree studies in Poland)
in the last year of studies – the last monthly scholarship plus PLN 500, allocated for the costs related to preparing the diploma thesis.
Meals in the refectory and accommodation in student dormitories are at the expense of the scholarship holders.
The required attachments to the application form are listed on page 9f of the Regulations. IMPORTANT: Every application must contain two (2) copies of the listed documents in one of the following languages: Polish or English. In the case of documents issued in other languages, it is required to have them translated into Polish or English and officially certified. Documents in other languages will not be accepted.
Besides the scholarships offered within bilateral agreements, Swiss students and researchers can also apply to the following scholarship programmes:
Poland My first Choice Programme – Scholarships for Master’s degree studies The Poland My First Choice scholarship programme aims to encourage young talented people from several countries, including Switzerland, to pursue studies at the best Polish HEIs. The Programme offers an opportunity to pursue full-time second-cycle studies in Polish or in another language at public and private HEIs on all fields of study offered by institutions offering education at highest level, with a monthly scholarship amounting to PLN 2,000 (ca. EUR 460) to cover the living allowance during the period of education in Poland. In the case of public HEIs, the Programme also offers an exemption from education fees. The call for applications is open from 19th March to 14th May 2019. Applications have to be submitted in an electronic form via NAWA’s ICT system.
Ulam Programme - Mobility grants for post-doctoral researchers The objective of the Ulam Programme is to help foreign researchers to develop their career by intensifying international mobility as well as allowing them to establish scientific cooperation with excellent host institutions in Poland. Visits within the programme can last from 6 to 24 months. The Programme provides financing for a scholarship covering both the Beneficiary’s allowance costs in relation to their stay at a host institution, in an amount of PLN 10,000 a month, and a mobility allowance. The call for applications is open from 22nd January to 23rd April 2019. Applications have to be submitted in an electronic form via NAWA’s ICT system.
The host university decides whether a scholarship can be extended. We therefore recommend that scholarship holders who wish to extend their scholarship should contact their host university at an early stage to find out whether an extension is possible. In the positive case, the application for extension can be submitted to swissuniversities.
Programa de Bolsas de Estudo de Língua e Cultura Portuguesas do Camões, I.P. – Concurso de Verão 2019
Portugal, represented by the Camões - Instituto da Cooperação e da Língua I.P., offers a total of 41 scholarships for the summer programme within the scope of the Scholarship Programme for Portuguese language and culture.

The Korean Government represented by the National Institute for International Education Development (NIIED) offers Graduate Scholarships to several countries, including Switzerland. NIIED has announced the application guidelines of the 2019 Korean Government Scholarship Program for Graduate Degrees.
REQUIREMENTS ○ Applicants must be under 40 years of age as of September 1, 2019 (born after September 1, 1979)
ELIGIBILITY - Academic professors who are under 45 years of age as of September 1, 2019 (born after September 1, 1974 - Applicants must hold or must be expected to hold a Bachelor’s, Master’s or a Doctoral degree by August 31st, 2019. - Doctoral Program Applicants: Must hold a Master’s degree or a level of education equivalent to a Master’s degree - Master’s Program Applicants: Must hold a Bachelor’s degree or a level of education equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree - Research Program Applicants: Must hold a degree or a level of education equivalent to or higher than a Master’s degree and must have received an invitation from one of NIIED’s designated Korean universities.
HEALTH ○ All applicants must be in good health, both mentally and physically, to study in Korea for the full duration of degree or research programs. ○ All applicants must submit Form 6 or the “Personal Medical Assessment” at the time of applying.

The Romanian State offers trough the Ministry of Foreign Affairs 85 scholarships to foreign citizens for under- and post-graduate studies in Romania. Priority is given to citizens of non-EU states with which Romania does not have cultural and educational cooperation agreements.
Language of the study: In order to promote Romanian language and culture, the Ministry of National Education Scientific Research has decided that the beneficiaries of the scholarships should study only in the Romanian language. The candidates who do not know Romanian are offered one supplementary preparatory year to study the language.
Fields of study: architecture, visual arts, Romanian culture and civilization, journalism, political and administrative sciences, education sciences, social and human sciences, technical studies, oil and gas, agricultural sciences, veterinary medicine. Scholarships are NOT awarded in the fields of medicine and pharmacy.

The Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation announce the admission of foreign citizens for studies in Russian educational institutions of higher education at the expense of federal budget allocations.
Two scholarships are offered to Swiss candidates for studying Russian educational programs.
Benefits of the scholarship:
- The grant provides your free studying on the chosen specialty for the entire period of education. In addition, a monthly payment (1300 rubles) and a place in the student residence is provided.
Government grant does not cover transfer to University, living expenses and health insurance.

National Scholarship Programme of the Slovak Republic 2019/2020
The National Scholarship Programme of the Slovak Republic is funded by the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic. The programme supports mobility of international students, PhD students, university teachers, researchers and artists for scholarship stays at higher education institutions and research organisations in Slovakia.
The scholarship is intended to cover international scholarship holders’ living costs, i.e. the costs related to staying in Slovakia (food, accommodation, etc.), during their study, research/artistic or teaching stay in Slovakia

The National Scholarship Programme does not support:
international students and PhD students accepted for full higher education (bachelor, master, doctoral studies) in Slovakia, or those already studying in Slovakia (full higher education) who would like to fund their studies in Slovakia by the NSP;
international applicants who within the period of 36 months prior to the application deadline have spent in the territory of the Slovak Republic 12 or more months (in total);
international applicants awarded a scholarship in Slovakia in the framework of other scholarship programmes (e.g. International Visegrad Fund, Erasmus+, CEEPUS, bilateral agreements, etc.).
Scholarships of the Republic of Slovenia 2020/2021
The Ministry of Education, Science and Sport of the Republic of Slovenia offers a number of scholarship months to foreign nationals, on the basis of bilateral agreement and reciprocity. For the academic year 2020/2021 a total of 12 months are offered to Switzerland.
The scholarships scheme is designed for students at all levels who wish to pursue part of their study at one of the Slovenian institutions of higher education. The study mobility may last from 3 to 10 months. Majority of the applications are approved for study mobility in a form of short time study mobility or research visit (i.e. non-degree courses, or independent research activity at the host institution). A part of postgraduate study is based on individual works under the supervision of Slovenian professor/mentor.
The age limit of the applicants for study stays is 26 years (the applicant may not complete 26 years of age before the end of the scholarship period) and 30 years for research visit.
For the academic year 2020/2021, the scholarship comprises of:
300 EUR per month
free accommodation in the facilities (student dormitory) of the Student Centre of the Universities (paid by CMEPIUS directly to provider)
Subsidised meals - 2,63 EUR/per working day via Student Organisation of Slovenia
basic medical insurance for non-EU applicants if there is no bilateral agreement on health insurance between Slovenia and the applicant’s home country (paid by CMEPIUS directly to provider)
The scholarship cannot be awarded for a complete course of study leading to a degree. Neither can the scholarship be granted for any Slovenian language course. Furthermore, tuition fee cannot be covered from this scholarship!
Applicants are obliged to contact the selected university directly and request a Letter of Acceptance from the relevant department. When communicating with the chosen university, all students need to make the institution aware of the fact that they are applying for a scholarship award under the bilateral agreement.

In an effort to encourage outstanding international students to undertake degree studies in Taiwan so as to familiarize themselves with the academic environment in Taiwan, the Ministry of Education (MOE) establishes the Taiwan Scholarship Program. The Program offers scholarships to Swiss or Liechtenstein student to study for degree in Taiwan.
