SCHOLARSHIPS OFFERED TO NON-GREEK NATIONALS TO ATTEND COURSES AND SEMINARS IN GREECE IN THE MODERN GREEK LANGUAGE AND CULTURE 2018-2019
The State Scholarships Foundation (Ι.Κ.Υ.) offers up to fifty (50) scholarships to foreign nationals from countries worldwide in order to attend courses and seminars in the Modern Greek Language and Culture.
Greek Language: This programme offers learning opportunities at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels following a placement test and subject to sufficient students’ number.
History and Culture: Beneficiaries will be introduced to Greek History, Culture and Arts through seminars, educational visits to the sites of the city of study and excursions to other historic sites of Greece.
Cultural Programme: Cultural events are included in the course where an active participation is required.
DURATION OF THE SCHOLARSHIP
The duration of this scholarship is seven (7) months and is only offered for a specific course in the Modern Greek language and culture organised mainly at one Greek University. The University, which will hold this course, will be decided by the I.K.Y after a selection process. The courses will start on December 2018 and will end on June 2019.
REQUIREMENTS FOR ELIGIBILITY
Applicants should: - Be nationals of any country of the world excluding Greece (not with dual nationality – both foreign and Greek). - Hold a graduate degree from a non-Greek University outside Greece. - Not exceed the fortieth (40th) year of age until the 01/01/2018. - Be not permanent residents in Greece. - The knowledge of the Greek language acquired during this specific course should contribute to enhance the candidates work opportunities and to promote the Greek language and culture in their countries.
Applicants must meet the above requirements by the application deadline.
DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED
1. An application form, duly completed, signed and with one recent photograph attached. 2. An up-to-date curriculum vitae according to the european template “Europass” (in English or Greek language). 3. Certified copies of University Diplomas – Degrees. 4. Certificates indicating the knowledge of Greek (if any) or English or French language. 5. Two (2) letters of reference (in Greek, English or French) by a University Professor. 6. A written evidence of employment as a teacher of Greek, if any. 7. A recent (issued 1 month approximately prior to the application submission) health certificate by a national hospital or from the relevant recognized health service stating that the applicant does not suffer from any infectious diseases. 8. A copy of a valid passport / national identity card.
The above original documentation requested shall be submitted through the Greek Diplomatic Authorities.

THE SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS
The scholarship covers the following costs: - Free meals and accommodation in University residence or in flats provided by the University which will undertake the programme. - A monthly allowance of 150, 00€ (net amount) for personal expenses. - 200, 00€ for initial expenses. - Free emergency medical treatment under the Greek National Health Service (only in public hospitals). European citizens should have the European Insurance Illness Card from their insurance agency of their country. - Tuition fees and other relevant costs

1. The Taiwan Scholarship Program
In an effort to encourage outstanding international students to undertake degree studies in Taiwan so as to familiarize themselves with the academic environment in Taiwan, the Ministry of Education (MOE) establishes the Taiwan Scholarship Program. The Program offers scholarships to Swiss or Liechtenstein student to study for degree in Taiwan. 2. Taiwan Huayu Enrichment Scholarship Program (HES)
The Ministry of Education (MOE) in the Republic of China (Taiwan) provides the Huayu Enrichment Scholarship (HES) for foreign Mandarin/Chinese learners including beginners to study at any accredited Mandarin center in a university or college in Taiwan.
The Korean Government represented by the National Institute for International Education Development (NIIED) offers Graduate Scholarships to several countries, including Switzerland. NIIED has announced the application guidelines of the 2019 Korean Government Scholarship Program for Graduate Degrees.
REQUIREMENTS ○ Applicants must be under 40 years of age as of September 1, 2019 (born after September 1, 1979)
ELIGIBILITY ○ Academic professors who are under 45 years of age as of September 1, 2019 (born after September 1, 1974)
○ Applicants must hold or must be expected to hold a Bachelor’s, Master’s or a Doctoral degree by August 31st, 2019.
– Doctoral Program Applicants: Must hold a Master’s degree or a level of education equivalent to a Master’s degree

The Russian Federation Scholarship Offer 2019-2020
The Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation announce the admission of foreign citizens for studies in Russian educational institutions of higher education at the expense of federal budget allocations.
Scholarships are offered to Swiss candidates for studying Russian educational programs. The application period starts on November 8th 2018.
Benefits of the scholarship:
- The grant provides your free studying on the chosen specialty for the entire period of education. In addition, a monthly payment (1300 rubles) and a place in the student residence is provided.
Government grant does not cover transfer to University, living expenses and health insurance.

The Romanian State offers trough the Ministry of Foreign Affairs 85 scholarships to foreign citizens for under- and post-graduate studies in Romania. Priority is given to citizens of non-EU states with which Romania does not have cultural and educational cooperation agreements.
Language of the study: In order to promote Romanian language and culture, the Ministry of National Education Scientific Research has decided that the beneficiaries of the scholarships should study only in the Romanian language. The candidates who do not know Romanian are offered one supplementary preparatory year to study the language.
Fields of study: architecture, visual arts, Romanian culture and civilization, journalism, political and administrative sciences, education sciences, social and human sciences, technical studies, oil and gas, agricultural sciences, veterinary medicine. Scholarships are NOT awarded in the fields of medicine and pharmacy.

The $93.7 million Destination Australia Program allows tertiary education providers, including vocational education and training and higher education providers, to apply for funding through a competitive grants process to administer and promote scholarships for Australian and international students who live and study in regional Australia.
Scholarships are valued at $15,000 per student, per year, and will be available for students undertaking a Certificate IV through to PhD.
For the purposes of the Destination Australia Program, a regional location is classified as any area outside of Major Cities of Australia, in line with the Australian Bureau of Statistics' Australian Statistical Geography Standard Remoteness Structure. Scholarships of the Republic of Slovenia 2019/2020
The Ministry of Education, Science and Sport of the Republic of Slovenia offers a number of scholarship months to foreign nationals, on the basis of bilateral agreement and reciprocity. For the academic year 2019/2020 a total of 12 months is offered to Switzerland.
The scholarships scheme is designed for university/college students or graduates and Ph.D. applicants who wish to accomplish a part of their study at one of the Slovenian institution of higher education (in Slovenian language). A part of postgraduate study is based on individual works under the supervision of Slovenian professor/mentor.
The scholarship cannot be awarded for a complete course of study leading to a degree. Neither can the scholarship be granted for any Slovenian language course.

The National Scholarship Programme of the Slovak Republic is funded by the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic. Government Scholarships for the Republik of Poland 2019/2020
Within the framework of a reciprocal exchange, the Republic of Poland, represented by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange NAWA, offers 4 scholarships of 9 months each to Switzerland. The scholarships can be divided into short scholarships of i.e. 1 month or granted for a semester or a full academic year.
The scholarships are offered for the following objectives:
participation in scientific internship;
completion of part-time studies;
completion of university studies (first-cycle programme, second-cycle programme, Master’s degree studies or doctoral studies);
obtaining materials for scientific work;
conducting teaching activities at a host centre;
other form or forms of scientific or academic activity related to the implementation of studies, doctoral thesis or academic work.
Participation in the Programme may be applied for by individuals who:
completed secondary schools in the country of their residence, and who, at the time of completing the call for proposals for the Programme, hold a school certificate giving them the right to start studying any field of study and at any university in the certificate issuing country or
are students at foreign universities or
complete their doctoral studies at foreign universities or scientific institutions or
are university graduates who received their diploma not earlier than two years before the current call for proposals and have a recommendation from their university – apply for admission to complete another level of education or
are academic, didactic or academic and didactic researchers of foreign universities or scientific institutes
Students with dual citizenship (Poland/CH) are not eligible for Polish Government scholarships, even if they live and study in Switzerland. Applicants who are already studying in Poland cannot apply for a scholarship. Exceptions to this rule are possible under certain circumstances.

In addition, students of full-time studies in Poland may receive:

in the last year of studies – the last monthly scholarship plus PLN 500, allocated for the costs related to preparing the diploma thesis.
Meals in the refectory and accommodation in student dormitories are at the expense of the scholarship holders.
The required attachments to the application form are listed on page 9f of the Regulations. IMPORTANT: Every application must contain two (2) copies of the listed documents in one of the following languages: Polish or English. In the case of documents issued in other languages, it is required to have them translated into Polish or English and officially certified. Documents in other languages will not be accepted.
Besides the scholarships offered within bilateral agreements, Swiss students and researchers can also apply to the following scholarship programmes:
Poland My first Choice Programme – Scholarships for Master’s degree studies The Poland My First Choice scholarship programme aims to encourage young talented people from several countries, including Switzerland, to pursue studies at the best Polish HEIs. The Programme offers an opportunity to pursue full-time second-cycle studies in Polish or in another language at public and private HEIs on all fields of study offered by institutions offering education at highest level, with a monthly scholarship amounting to PLN 2,000 (ca. EUR 460) to cover the living allowance during the period of education in Poland. In the case of public HEIs, the Programme also offers an exemption from education fees. The call for applications is open from 19th March to 14th May 2019. Applications have to be submitted in an electronic form via NAWA’s ICT system.
Ulam Programme - Mobility grants for post-doctoral researchers The objective of the Ulam Programme is to help foreign researchers to develop their career by intensifying international mobility as well as allowing them to establish scientific cooperation with excellent host institutions in Poland. Visits within the programme can last from 6 to 24 months. The Programme provides financing for a scholarship covering both the Beneficiary’s allowance costs in relation to their stay at a host institution, in an amount of PLN 10,000 a month, and a mobility allowance. The call for applications is open from 22nd January to 23rd April 2019. Applications have to be submitted in an electronic form via NAWA’s ICT system.
The host university decides whether a scholarship can be extended. We therefore recommend that scholarship holders who wish to extend their scholarship should contact their host university at an early stage to find out whether an extension is possible. In the positive case, the application for extension can be submitted to swissuniversities.
The scholarship fund is intended for scholars of Dutch and other academics, preferably attached to departments of Dutch at foreign universities. These academics conduct research relevant to the Dutch studies and are not eligible for other national or international scholarship programmes. The academics stay at a university within the Dutch-speaking region or outside this region if this is relevant for the research. In all cases the research should be carried out within the framework of a thesis or habilitation (academic position).
A scholarship for a study period in the Netherlands or Flanders will be awarded for a maximum of six months. The scholarship can be used to pay for costs incurred while carrying out specific aspects of the research. The scholarship cannot be used for replacement of a salary. It is also not possible to use the scholarship to fund a scientific publication.

Mexican Government's Merit Awards for International Students 2020
As part of a reciprocal exchange, the government of Mexico, represented by the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID), offers 4 scholarships to Switzerland for undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate study and research.
The scholarships are offered for the institutions and programs specified in the "List of Institutions and Academic Programs" in order to conduct academic activities from 1st of March to the 10th of December 2020 (No scholarships will be awarded for studies started after the 10th of December 2020).
Requirements for all applicants:
Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Ph.D. Degree, as required by the program for which the scholarship is requested. Technical and/or commercial degree titles are not accepted. For the cases of mobility at the Bachelor's level, it will not be necessary to submit a diploma, only proof of studies of the last academic period completed, issued by the institution of origin.
Applicants must have achieved a minimum grade point average of eighty (80), on a scale of 0 to 100, or the equivalent, for the last academic degree received. Applications with a lower grade point average will not be considered.
Applicants must be accepted or currently enrolled in a program of the participating Mexican institutions.
Scholarships are not granted for direct Ph.D. programs (combined M.A. and Ph.D. programs), distance learning programs, open or online education.
The following academic programs are not eligible for scholarships: Business Administration, Plastic Surgery, Accounting, Marketing, Advertising and Publicity, Dentistry and Odontology, as well as related fields.
The results will be announced from January 15th, 2020 through the Mexican Embassy in Bern.
The acceptance procedure for a Mexican institution and the corresponding letter is independent of the scholarship program. Applicants must manage directly their admission to the study program at any of the participating Mexican institutions.
The Latvian State Scholarships for studies, research or summer schools 2019/2020
Latvia offers scholarships to foreign students, researchers and teaching staff for studies, research and participation in summer schools in Latvian higher education institutions (HEIs) in the 2019/2020 academic year. The Ministry of Education and Science of Latvia has delegated the administration of the Latvian state scholarships to the State Education Development Agency (Valsts izglītības attīstības aģentūra – VIAA).
Latvian scholarships for studies
Language of instruction at Latvian HEIs is mainly Latvian, however there are a few study programmes offered in English. Applications for bachelor's and the first level of professional higher education studies will be accepted from students who have successfully completed at least one academic year of studies (at their home HEI or at a Latvian HEI if they already have been studying in Latvia) at the moment of application (February, March 2019). Scholarships for bachelor's and master's studies are granted for one academic year – a time period up to 10 months (for PhD-students – up to 11 months). Scholarship for master's studies in the study programmes of Latvian philology, Latvian literature, Latvian culture and Latvian history can be granted for two academic years, i.e. for the duration of master's study programme.
Latvian fellowships for research
Only academic staff of foreign higher education and research institutions are eligible candidates for the Latvian state fellowship for research. The fellowship is granted for a time period of up to 5 months.
Latvian scholarships for summer schools
Only students, academic and research staff of foreign HEIs are eligible for the Latvian scholarship for participation in summer schools.

Study and research stays: Applications for scholarships for studies or research at Latvian HEIs have to be submitted online to VIAA.
Summer schools: Information on how to apply for the scholarship for participation in summer schools can be found on the website of the HEI in Latvia organizing the summer school.
A copy of a letter of the relevant Latvian higher education and research institution, confirming the student's or researchers' opportunity to study in the chosen study programme or to do research work there is needed.
Eligibility The scholarships are intended for students of modern Icelandic. Students must have completed at least one year of University study. Students must also have prior knowledge of Icelandic according to the requirements for BA study in Icelandic as a second language (Icelandic knowledge on the level with the courses Icelandic Online 1 and 2). Preference will, as a rule, be given to a candidate under 35 years of age.
Scholarship The scholarship covers registration fees at the University and a monthly stipend that should cover room and board for one person, payable at the beginning of each month, September to April. A room will be available for rent in one of the University dormitory, Gamli Garður.

If a scholarship recipient wishes to extend the scholarship for an additional year he/she has to apply to the Institute before 1 December. No one will be granted a scholarship for more than three times.
Estonian Government Scholarships for International Students 2019-2020
Estonian Scholarship Programme for international students, researchers and academic staff. The Estonian Ministry of Education and Research and Archimedes Foundation offer scholarships to foreign nationals in the framework of the Estonian Scholarship Programme for international students, researchers and academic staff.
Scholarships for short courses The purpose of the scholarship for short courses is to support participation in short courses of Estonian language and culture organised by the Estonian institutions of higher education as well as in summer and winter schools related to the degree programmes taught in English. The scholarship can be awarded to BA, MA and PhD students who are enrolled to the higher education institution abroad at least one year by the time of application.
Scholarships for researchers Scholarships for researchers can be awarded to researchers and academic staff of higher education institutions abroad. They are divided into short-term (1-9 days) and long-term (10 days – 10 calendar months) scholarships and can be used for research, teaching, collaboration with colleagues etc.
Dora Plus Programme From 2019 onward, Archimedes Foundation will distribute the scholarships to host institutions and students can apply for scholarships while enrolling to the university of their choice.
Dora Plus Scholarships for foreign students (MA and PhD) in Estonian Universities The programme provides support to:
foreign Doctoral students, who study full time during the nominal time of their studies;
short-term study or research of visiting Doctoral students in Estonia (1-10 months);
foreign Master's students, who study full-time in Estonia (support is provided one academic year at a time).
Scholarships for short courses: Application period is from 19.02.2019 to 19.03.2019
Scholarships for researchers: Application period is from 01.04.2019 to 01.05.2019
Dora Plus scholarships: There is no central call for applications as the scholarship recipients will be selected by the host institutions directly. In order to apply students must contact the Dora Plus coordinator in the specific higher education institution.

The following two scholarship programmes are available for Swiss applicants:
A/1. One semester studies for students of Croatian Language abroad
Eligible applicants: undergraduate (BA/BSc) and graduate (MA/MSc) students, especially those majoring in Croatian Language and Literature, as well as graduate students working on their theses. Before application, students are required to have completed a minimum of two semesters at their home institutions
F. Summer course 2019 (2 weeks) in Dubrovnik
The scholarship is granted for the 48th Croatian Seminar for Foreign Slavic Studies Students of the Zagreb School of Slavic Studies that will be held in Dubrovnik from 19th to 30th August 2019. Eligible applicants: Foreign students of Croatian and Slavic Studies, lecturers (professors, senior assistants with a Ph.D. and teaching/research assistants) who teach Croatian language and literature at foreign universities, experts who specialize in Croatian Studies in different research institutions, as well as translators of the Croatian language.
A/1. One semester studies for students of Croatian Language abroad: Candidates for this scholarship are nominated by the Croatian language fellows at higher education institutions in Switzerland.
F. Summer course 2019 in Dubrovnik: A minimum level of language competence is B1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (it applies to understanding, speaking and writing). A preference will be given to candidates with a level of the Croatian language competence B2 and higher.
Governmental scholarships offered by Colombia for the academic year 2019/2020

Danish Government Scholarships for Summer Language Courses 2019
Denmark offers a pool of scholarships to several countries, including Switzerland, on a competitive multilateral basis. Swiss students can apply for a scholarship under the Cultural Agreements programme to attend a Danish Summer Language Course.
There are 225 scholarships available in 2019. The summer language courses in Danish are open to bachelor, master's and PhD students. The courses offer foreign students Danish language instruction at all levels, while showcasing Denmark and Danish culture. They feature a minimum of 3 hours of language instruction a day accompanied by excursions and cultural activities. The Danish Summer Language Courses last 3 weeks and are offered during the months of July and August 2019. The courses are offered by a number of different course providers, located in different regions of Denmark.

Students can only apply for one course as their first priority. They will, however, be able to select a second choice, in case they cannot be placed in the course that they have picked as their first choice. Applications from students who apply to several course providers as their first priority will not be taken into consideration.
Students will NOT be awarded ECTS-points for attending a summer language course. These language courses are not ECTS awarding course.
Brunei Darussalam Government Scholarships to Foreign Students 2019/2020
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs invites applications for the Government of Brunei Darussalam Scholarship.
