Netiquette swissuniversities

swissuniversities, the rectors conference of the Swiss universities, is active on social media. Users receive information about activities, responsibilities, services and statements of swissuniversities. Interactions between users are welcome. 

To ensure that these interactions remain respectful and constructive, the following rules of conduct apply on swissuniversities’ channels: 

  • be respectful 
  • remain objective and relevant 
  • do not publish personal data 
  • do not distribute advertising or spam 

Thank you for contributing to respectful exchanges through your behaviour. By using swissuniversities’ channels, you agree to this netiquette.

Respectful interaction

A respectful tone is essential to create a space for constructive discussions, even when opinions differ. swissuniversities asks all users to remain polite and objective. All comments should be relevant to the topic. 

Comments containing the following content will be hidden or deleted: 

  • insults, derogatory remarks, personal attacks or provocations 
  • discriminatory, racist, ableist, sexist or otherwise offensive content 
  • disinformation or extremist ideologies 
  • calls for violence or the trivialisation of violence 
  • files or links containing harmful viruses or similar content 
  • content that violates the rights of swissuniversities, its members or third parties 

Data protection and intellectual property

No personal data may be published, either about users themselves or about other persons (e.g. employees, students or members of universities). This includes information such as addresses, telephone numbers or private email addresses. Linking to or tagging other users’ accounts is permitted in accordance with this netiquette. 

 Copyrights or trademarks of swissuniversities may not be used without the written consent of swissuniversities. 

Moderation

swissuniversities’ social media channels are moderated. Comments that violate this netiquette or applicable law may be hidden or deleted without notice. In serious or repeated cases of violation, users will be blocked and reported to the respective platforms. 

Contributions by users on swissuniversities’ social media channels do not reflect the opinion of swissuniversities
