swissuniversities agrees with the Federal Council's assessment of the ‘admission of holders of a Federal Vocational Baccalaureate to primary teacher training’.
In response to postulate 22.4267, the Federal Council commissioned an expert report. This examined three potential options for direct admission of holders a Federal Vocational Baccalaureate to primary teacher training courses at a university of teacher education. These variants would have numerous disadvantages and should therefore be rejected. swissuniversities welcomes the Federal Council's recommendations. It is essential that holders of an advanced level vocational diploma have the academic skills needed to study and practise as primary school teachers.
