Open Access Policy Guidelines
The Open Access action plan provides for the development of recommendations for the local Open Access guidelines of Swiss universities. To facilitate this, the Network of University Libraries (SLiNER) has now drawn up a set of guidelines.
The alignment of individual guidelines with common principles in line with international standards is intended to ensure coherence in the implementation of Open Access at universities, vis-à-vis researchers, funding organisations and publishers.

Während der internationalen Open-Access-Woche 2020 vom 19. bis 25. Oktober haben der SNF und swissuniversities acht Kurzvideos veröffentlicht. Darin sprechen sich Forschende und Leitungspersonen von Schweizer Hochschulen für Open Access aus. In der Umsetzung ist Open Access je nach Disziplin mit anderen Herausforderungen verbunden. Deshalb kommen in den Videos Vertreterinnen und Vertreter verschiedener Disziplinen zu Wort.
"Wir unterstützen Open Acess, weil es neues Wissen allgemein und global zugänglich macht", sagt Ulrich Weidmann, Vizepräsident für Infrastruktur der ETH Zürich. Besonders wichtig sei dies für Institutionen und Länder, die sich die Abonnementsgebühren von Zeitschriften nicht leisten können.
